Only 30% of uric acid production stems from dietary purines. Many "low-purine" foods are absolutely horrible for your health. Sugar can destroy the liver, damage the heart, cause metabolic dysfunction, destroy your leptin signaling and promote belly fat, increase uric acid levels, and feeds cancer cells. 70% of Uric Acid production comes from our own body's cells (NOT from the purines we eat) and cells die at an alarming rate in the presence of unhealthy diets and lifestyles, with sugar being one of the worst offenders.
