Gout can definitely feel like a sprain, but more than likely it was the actual injury that led to the attack. When uric acid is high in the body, it can and will likely settle and crystallized in the area of trauma. Uric acid crystals can easily settle and form in a damaged joint, and even more likely in lower areas of the body (further from the heart) where the temperature is lower. These areas make you even more vulnerable to uric acid settlement. Trauma also lowers the pH of the body and increases calcium ion activity, which is a perfect breeding ground or urate proliferation.
The key to avoiding this and other areas of the body in the future will be to lower the uric acid in the body. Keeping that at optimal and manageable levels will help avoid future settlement and further joint damage. Our products and program are designed to do exactly that. Please feel free to contact me at jaime@goutcare.com for personalized assistance to meet your gout free goals. Look forward to hearing from you!
